To have a career in healthcare, a degree is often required. Universities will require professionals to train all medical students, doctors, nurses, therapists and dentists to ensure that they have acquired the skills necessary to treat patients.

Most often, university tutors will have already trained and worked some years in the specific profession, as it is important that universities hire experienced professionals.

There are also a number of universities that have their own independent health services. These too will required skilled occupational professionals to treat teachers and students, with basic primary care.
