TELEVISION

Televisions are absolutely commonplace in homes and many offices across the country and are arguably the most widely-used means of broadcasting news stories through news channels, programmes and documentaries. Broadcasters will hire large teams of journalists to research, report, produce, and present the news to large audiences on a local, regional, national and sometimes international scale. With the development of the internet, more and more people are using the internet for television, for example by using 4OD and iPlayer.

Broadcasting first began on November 2nd, 1936, at Victorian Alexandra Palace in north London. The BBC began transmitting the world's first public service and so is considered to be the birthplace of television broadcasting.
