Performing arts schools allow students to specialise in certain creative fields whether it is performing, visual and/or media arts. The schools will offer vocational training over a number of years to prepare students to perform in front of an audience. Performing arts schools are often privately owned, however some are Government funded. These Government funded schools are often key hubs to the community offering youngsters a chance to learn new skills.

Staff within these schools believe in creating the best possible atmosphere of support and encouragement for all their students. By offering vocational training they aim to produce versatile and competent students in the following subjects:

  • Art
  • Theatre
  • Drama
  • Music
  • Dance

The arts have become a key factor within UK education all the way through from primary and secondary education to higher levels.

Courses offered are normally based on practical work, as the students are being trained to perform in front of an audience.
