Junior space planners will typically earn around £18,000, however with proven performance and experience salaries will rise to between £26,000 and £36,000 per annum.

Experienced space planners working on large or high-profile projects can earn in excess of £75,000.

Norman Foster

Norman Foster is a leading British architect best known for his high structures. After serving in the RAF, Foster studied Architecture at Manchester University (1956-61) and Yale University (1961-2). In 1967 he founded his own company 'Foster Associates' which has now grown into an enormously successful practice with projects all over the world. His most famous building include Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank, Kings Cross Redevelopment and the Gherkin.

I.M.Pei (Pei leoh Ming)

I.M. Pei left China aged 18 to study Architecture at MIT before becoming an instructor and assistant professor at Harvard. In 1955 he founded I.M. Pei and Partners in New York and frequently works on large scale buildings that are renowned for their sharp, geometric designs. He is most well known for his controversial large scale glass pyramid at the Louvre Museum in Paris and the Bank of China in Hong Kong.

Alfred Waterhouse

Born in Liverpool in 1830, Alfred Waterhouse was a famous English Victorian Architect best known for designing the Natural History Museum. He was educated at the Grove House Friends' School in Liverpool and went on to become the assistant to Richard Lane in Manchester. After extensive training he travelled around Europe returning in 1854 to set up his own practice. Other famous works include the Town Hall in Manchester and the Prudential Assurance Buildings in London.
