Beauty therapy is the single largest job provider in the entire health and beauty section. It is the perfect job for those with a range of skills in the beauty trade who can provide a wide range of treatments. The single most important factor for employment, aside from the basic skill, is the ability to get on with a range of individuals in a professional but friendly manner.

Beauty therapists will initially ask clients to fill in a medical questionnaire to ensure they are aware of anything that could affect the treatment process. Therapists will then carry out the desired treatment/s which can include: waxing, massage, manicures, pedicures, tanning and eyelash extensions. Some therapists, particularly those who work in smaller practices will also be responsible for front of house duties, taking payment and product promotion.

Beauty therapists have a wide range of places in which they can work including; salons, spas, health clubs, hotels and private practice. There is a code to which beauty therapists aim to stick to at all times. This is communication, social skills, training, attention to details and understanding fully the demands of the client.
