EXHIBITION STAND DESIGNER

An exhibition stand designer will typically produce proposals for displays at a range of different events, conferences, galleries, museums or trade shows. Although work will vary considerably depending on employers and venues, the most important factors based behind the stand are often the same. The most important element to consider is to ensure the client’s message or concept is portrayed across to the visitor. A stand must be aesthetically pleasing, practical and meet any limitations enforced by budgets and space.

A designer must be able to develop a genuine understanding of the client’s brand, product or objectives so that an appropriate proposal can be presented. A variety of initial design sketches must be drawn up before prototypes are built therefore the client is able to sign off on the best stand design.

The role may also include project management which involves an increased level of responsibility as furniture, lighting, marketing, rentals etc. will have to be taken into consideration.
