The exhibition sector is an incredibly fast paced industry offering a number of design jobs. Each role is dependent on location, employer and type of exhibition; for example designing and planning spaces for an art gallery will be remarkably different than setting up a trade fair.

An employee will normally work solely for one particular venue and will therefore deal with the exhibitions that are displayed there. Larger centres or galleries will therefore offer a greater variety of work as a larger amount of different events will be displayed.

A creative flare is crucial for a career in this industry as designing an exhibition requires the analysing of space and creating new concepts that matches the client’s wishes and draws in the public. A huge amount of planning goes into the preparation of an exhibit, therefore organisation is a key factor with the ability to cope with any last minute problems.
