Electrician salaries will vary largely depending on the size of employer, and the location that the electrician lives and works in. Big employers are likely to pay more, and are more likely to offer bonuses and overtimes. Working for a large company will also offer a more structured pay scale and progression.

An apprentice electrician is likely to earn around £8,000 per annum, going on to earn over £17,000 when fully qualified.

Experienced electricians with specialist skills and expertise can earn around £30,000 per annum, but this depends on the employer and the location. Fully qualified and senior electricians may be able to find work abroad or even set up their own business and work freelance.
