A range of hospitality positions are being created in Lincoln. National chain, Carluccio's, is opening a new restaurant in the former Lamb and Flag pub in the High Street and is looking for 30 new employees including chefs, kitchen workers, hosts, managers and other staff. Simon Kossoff, chief executive of Carluccio's, said: "We have been keen to open in Lincoln for a number of years now and are delighted to have finally found the right site for us."

Double Tree, a Hilton hotel, in Brayforn Wharf North, is also recruiting for kitchen porters, a commis chef and a chef de partie. Roanna Fox, HR executive, has said that the company "would always look to recruit locally. We look to not only use locally produced food but also have people who have a passion for local food."

A new authentic American eatery in The Strait, Ribs 'n' Bibs, is also looking to recruit 10 new staff before its Valentine's Day opening.

Simon Beardsley, chief executive of Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, said he was pleased to see new jobs being created in a difficult climate for the sector: "I'm delighted to see there are new opportunities for people in that particular area against the backdrop of a pretty depressing week, especially with the losses we've seen across the country."
