McDonald's pledges 65 new jobs for Kent

24 JAN 2013   01:59PM

Fast Food giant, McDonald's has recently announced plans to create 2,500 jobs across the UK and 65 of these will be located in Kent.

The employment opportunities drive will offer new employees the ability to obtain qualifications. No new restaurants will be opened in Kent, all jobs will be in existing outlets so there are more people on the floor to serve customers

Franchisee, Paul Crocker, who owns 10 restaurants in the county has said: “As a local employer, I believe it’s important for all those who can, to continue giving young people in particular the chance to get workplace experience.”

Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, added: “McDonald’s is to be applauded for helping adult employees get qualifications in maths and English. Poor literacy and numeracy skills can hold people back in the workplace, which is why the Government has doubled the funding for these core subjects.”
