New Gateshead Tesco to create 200 jobs
23 JAN 2013 11:22AMA new Gateshead Tesco Extra will create up to 200 full and part time jobs when it opens this May. It is thought that at least 60 of the new jobs will be offered to those who have been unemployed for more than six months. The remaining 140 jobs will be opened up to applicants in a second round of recruitment.
The Tesco Extra will be located at the Trinity Square development in Tyne & Wear. Leader of Gateshead Council, Mick Henry, has said he hopes this new development, as a whole, which create well in excess of 1,000 jobs for job seekers in Gateshead - a town which currently has more than 20,000 unemployed.
